Sir Michael Costa (1808-1884) was an Italian-born conductor and composer. Among well known ballets and operas, Costa composed 'The Maiden's Choice', a serenata for the marriage of King Edward VII and Alexandra Princess of Denmark, c.1863.

General Sir Dighton MacNaghten Probyn V.C. (1833-1924) who, after his military career, became a royal courtier as Equerry to the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII). Later he became Keeper of the Privy Purse as well as secretary to the Prince of Wales and Comptroller of the Household.
