1810 (12 April), warrant appointing "Moore Gent" as Second Lieutenant under Major General Frederick Maitland in the 1st Ceylon Regiment. Sealed with royal wafer seal and taxed £1 10/-. Signed "George R" in a very uncontrolled hand, also signed "Liverpool" by Robert Jenkinson, and "Tho: Butts" by Thomas Butts. Photo

By 1810 the King's sight had almost entirely deteriorated. As early as 1805 his writing abilities had been restricted by his vision and in October of 1810 King George made his last public appearance.
