HMS Dreadnought, Battle of Trafalgar 1805
1805 contemporary copy of the report of the HMS Dreadnought's engagement at Trafalgar, 21st October, 1805. The ship was captained by John Conn who would likely have submitted this report to Admiral Cuthbert Collingwood. Conn recounts the taking of San Juan Nepomuceno, a three decked Spanish ship, by fire. On the reverse, dated 8th March 1806, Collingwood commends their valiant efforts noting "I expected much from her and was not disappointed". The page is in 4 complete pieces, separated at the horizontal folds.

HMS Dreadnought was the eighth ship in the lee division to engage on the 21 October 1805 when she lost seven killed and 26 wounded.
