1679 (5 June) warrant from Treasury Commissioners to Sir Robert Howard, Auditor of the Receipt, in printed format with manuscript insertions. The warrant is to draw an order to pay £27 to Richard Twisdell for "quartering several men from Capt. Francis Hawley's soldiers". One of a variety of forms used to pay for the forces. Signed "L: Hyde", "Ed Dering" and "S. Godolphin". A good group of signatures. Photo

Sidney Godolphin, 1st Earl of Godolphin, succeeded Hyde as First Lord of the Treasury (1700-1701)

Edward Dering, probably Sir Edward Dering, 2nd Baronet who was an English politician. In 1679 he was elected MP for Hythe and appointed commissioner of the Treasury
