(x) 1978 (Sept.) National Stamp Week 20c. perforated plate proof, a top left corner block of twelve (3x4) in issued colours on gummed unwatermarked non-helecon stamp paper, fine. BW 823PP(2), $4800. Photo

Note: A perforated plate proof uncut pane of 50 came onto the market in 2000 bearing marginal markings unlike those on the issued stamp, or any other Australian issue. Perforation matches the issued stamp, but the paper is non-helecon. The sheet is endorsed "FIRST BLUE PLATE" and "THE OTHER PERFORATED SHEET WAS SENT TO AUST POST 19/6/78". The sheet is said to have been sent to Crobor Corporation (Switzerland), whose involvement, if any, in the production of the stamp issue (presumably via Asher & Co.) is not known
