1858 (11 Aug.) large part envelope "Paid" registered from Otago to Edinburgh, bearing 1/- green bisected vertically, placed sideways and crisply cancelled "18", showing handstruck "d6" (yto pay) and "registered/london" oval transit datestamp (13.11), despatch datestamp on reverse; two flaps of the reverse missing, nevertheless of very fine appearance and the sole registered cover from either of this or the London bisect frankings, and one of the earlier of the Richardson bisects.
