A substantial group of covers with a few fronts and pieces, ranging from the 19th. to 20th. century, with an interesting range of material, including 1819 entire with red Bristol/Penny Post, 2d. Mulready, 1841 1d. on entire with "407" barred oval cancellation (Isle of Man) and blue "L.C." (letter carriers office) in circle, 2d. blues with Plate 3: GF on entire from London to Dumfries, 1854 2d. on "Guardian Assurance Company" entire from London to Macclesfield, 1855 entire with 1d. Stars cancelled by Birmingham spoon and with fine engraving inside, ½d. surface printed newspaper wrappers, 1871 large entire from Carlisle to London franked 3d. and 6d., 1887 5d. on envelope from Whitehaven to Paris, later issues, etc., mixed condition
