2fr. bistre on bluish, outstandingly well centred, very fresh, with horizontal crease occurring before the application on back of 3 March 1914 insured envelope from Paris to Reuilly, tied by dispatch c.d.s., repeated on front, showing transit and arrival c.d.s.'s, as well as the compulsory red wax seals on reverse; some wrinkles to envelope of little significance. The rarest single franking of the "Sage" issues, and one of the scarcest stamps of French philately used as single on cover, as confirmed by Calves in his statement with certificate issued in 1994.
