1862-70 "Empire" Laureated Issue
20c. blue, type I, in mixed franking with 1862 20c. blue, usual centrings, on 29 May 1867 cover to Flaviac, tied by "2145" numeral grid with "Lyon/Les-Terreux" c.d.s. alongside, and arrival on reverse; horizontal filing fold well clear of the franking and of no importance. An extraordinary combination of two same denominations, in similar colours, and originating from different issues; undoubtedly, an exceedingly rare occurrence. Signed Goebel. Spink Maury 22, 29I.
