1862 Perforated "Empire" Issue
20c. blue, "face to face" tête-bêche pair, clarity of impression, defective perforation at top right, due as part of the vertical perforation was absent at top, as proved on the opposite sides in centre and left, on 21 June 1867 insured envelope from Vif, carried at single rate up to 10 grams including 20c. "chargé" fee, neatly tied by gross chiffres "4203", backstamped in transit; pair lifted for examination and hinged back to cover with Calves signature, crease at top, and envelope with portions missing at top, which were backed up with paper.
