(x) Stephen (1135-54), Penny, 1.15g, local and irregular issues of the Civil War, Lozenge and Pellet Sceptre / Ornaments type, stief, crowned and draped bust right, holding sceptre in right hand, decorated at the tip by a large lozenge with a pellet at the centre, ornaments filling the border after the king's name, rev. cross pattée over saltire fleury, within a wide border of ornaments (Allen p. 307, no. 53 - this coin; N.920; S.1314), flan slightly uneven, small edge chip, and crack at 7 o'clock, otherwise very fine and legible, very rare
