The main study of the Sussex mints is H. H. King. 'Coins of the Sussex Mints', in BNJ XXVIII, pp. 60-74, 249-263 and 518-536 (with additional material in BNJ XXIX, pp. 190-191 and BNJ XXX, p. 188). Wenstan, an extremely rare moneyer, is not recorded at Hastings by King.

The collection of coins of the Sussex Mints sold at Glendining in 1985 was formed by the actor Humphrey Lestocq Gilbert (1919-84).
