1903 Vaughan Essays
In May 1903, G.A. Vaughan, the Government printer in Queensland, designed, printed and submitted to the Postmaster-General, Senator Drake, a series of essays depicting King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra for a standard Commonwealth of Australia stamp issue.
2d. Queen Alexandra, full face portrait, blank tablet at base, in blue on pink thin card, two perfs at top with light stain on reverse, otherwise fine. Very rare. BW E4B, $3500. Photo
