1855 (Mar.) envelope from Hobart Town to Western Australia, bearing 1d. later impression deep blue strip of three, [13-15], and pale blue single, twice neatly cancelled "68" and showing "general post town/hobart town/vdl" Crowned datestamp in red; the left-hand stamp of the strip with a scissor-cut at top barely affecting the fine appearance of this very rare and exotic destination franking. Note: It is noted that Dr. Geoff Kellow records only three covers where the 4d. ship letter rate has been paid with a multiple of the Courier 1d. There is this cover, the only known cover bearing a Courier 1d. to be mailed to any other Australian Colony, and a cover recorded to Canada
