1849 (9 Oct.) entire letter from Baltimore, rated "4" and showing superb (probably the finest) strike of "paid/at/st georges bermuda" Crowned circle in red and, on reverse across join, the sole recorded example of the oval-framed "forwearded by/henry e. higgs/foreign letter office/bermuda" oval cachet and with St. Thomas double-arc d.s. (25.10) alongside, the face also showing a partially fine strike of the oval-framed "by/kenyon's/foreign letter office/new york" h.s. in red. A fine and unique cover carried by R.M.S.P. Great Western from New York to Bermuda. Photo
