1794 entire letter ex the Saumarez correspondence to Guernsey, headed "Camp La Coaste Martinique, 25th March 1793" (error for 1794), marked "Care of Capt Tozer, Brixham", rated "1/-" and showing "falmouth/ship/lre" horshoe h.s.; the letter a little soiled, creased with with slight wear along folds. The contents include "...Fort Royal struck its colours three days ago and that Fort Bourbon has also surrendered so that we are in full possession of the whole island". Photo
