Introduction
1½a. sepia surcharged "2½" (Type 2) in red, full pane of 120 issued at latest by 30 November 1895, the confirmed date of the surcharge, interpanneau margin at foot indicating the pane came from the top half of the sheet, large part original gum; a fraction tropicalised and some tone spots on margin at left though generally fine. One of the most important provisional items, and one of only two full panes of Setting 1 with surcharge known.
