1861 (4 Jan., docketed as the day written) entire (no side flaps) from Charlotte Town to St. John's, bearing perf. 9 3d. blue and 6d. yellow-green both cancelled with a pen cross (small additional manuscript mark tying the 3d. value) and affixed over manuscript "Paid", manuscript "4" in red crayon at left the reverse with despatch (8.1) and arrival (28.1) datestamps; adhesives with faults though possibly the earliest usage of these two stamps, only issued on 1 January.
