1853 (22 Aug.) four page letter (without envelope) on paper with embossed "Island of St. Helena", headed (H.M.S.) "Pen"(elope) "at Fernando" (Po), from Capt. (later Rear Admiral) H.W. Bruce to his daughter Jane in England, written from Prince's Island and giving his anti-Slavery squadron's plans to visit "Lagos and Quittah, to Fernando and to meet the Teager with the mails from Ascension off Magunha..."; Also an undated envelope from the same correspondence dated Feb. 27 (1855), sent privately and posted in London to Paris; fine
