1916 (2 Mar.) envelope registered to Jersey City, U.S.A. "via Tarcheng" bearing, on the reverse, 1915 2c., 3c. and 10c. tied by Tihwafu (Urumtsi) bilingual c.d.s. with a fair strike of the boxed registered handstamp alongside; there is a wonderful array of transit marks including, on the address side, handstruck "America" and Tahcheng bilingual c.d.s. (4.4, much earlier than previously recorded), plus exchange office Russian P.O. Chuguchak (25.3) in blue, New York registered oval (6.9) and Jersey City arrival on the same day, Petrograd censor handstamp plus Russian censor seal and handstamps. A very good cover going the westbound route under paying 10c. postage and 10c. registration. Taking just over 6 months to be delivered. Photo
