(x) Islamic, Arab-Byzantine, Spain, Anonymous (c.711-14), base gold Solidus, 3.95g, Hegira year XCII (AH92), Indiction IX (9), abbreviated Latin legend around a seven-pointed star, rev. legend: HicSoLiDusFeRiTusINSPaniaANNoXCII, in field: INDCIX (Bernardi -; Walker -; A. 122 for type), the obverse double-struck, about extremely fine, of the highest rarity, the second known of this early date

Arab-Byzantine coins were struck in Spain between AD 703-717. This coin clearly displays the indiction year IX, which is the the earliest date known for this series, equating to AD 711. The date further appears as the Hijra year XCII across the obverse in Latin numerals.
Ony one other coin of this date and type is known (Spink Auction, 249, 6th December 2017, lot 601). This coin appears to have been struck from the same dies, possibly those used by the travelling mint accompanying Musa Ibn Nusayr himself, and has the same distinctive flat profile.
