1935 Rajah Brooke's Flight
Rajah Brooke interrupted his UK visit returning to Singapore to prepare for the impending tour of Sarawak and North Borneo by Sir Shenton Thomas, the Governor of Straits Settlements. He left for Kuching in a RAF Singapore III Flying-boat on 4 August, accompanied by Air Commodore S.W. Smith, Officer commanding RAF Far East, who returned the next day, carrying a small amount of mail.
1935 (4 Aug.) 15c. registered envelope (280x127mm; small faults and a little browned) flown from Kuching to Singapore, marked "By RAF Flying Boat K3592", bearing 1934 1c. to $1 and showing, on reverse, Singapore (5.8) and Paya Lebar (6.8) datestamps
