1930 Inspection Flight Singapore - India
Air Marshall Sir Geoffrey Salmond of RAF in India, in command of two Wapiti and one Hanaidi aeroplanes, arrived in Singapore on 2 November to arrange for the quartering of the new RAF Bombing Squadron due in Singapore shortly. On the return flight they inspected various aerodromes at Alor Star, Victoria Point, Rangoon, Akyab and Calcutta.
1930 (14 Nov.) printed envelope to New Delhi, marked "Singapore to Delhi by RAF Pioneer Flight", franked at 4c., signed by Sir Geoffrey Salmond and showing arrival datestamp (23.11) on reverse. 13 letters carried on this leg. Photo
