General Andreossi received yesterday Dispatches from Paris, and you may be assured of the fact that Bonaparte was thrown from his Phaeton and much hurt this no doubt is the reason of our messenger not arriving yesterday - but I wish I could assure you as certainly of what is added - that Bonaparte had referred to our ultimatum to the Senate, if this is really the case Peace undoubtedly will be the consequence...."; the war resumed five days later.
