1835 entire letter from Thebes, Egypt to Scotland, carried privately to Malta where it spent several weeks in quarantine at the lazaretto on Manoel Island (now Gzira), opened, fumigated and resealed with "opened and resealed/lazaretto of malta" red wax seal (LAZ-S4, part remaining) and with curved-framed "malta".
