Lake Sub-Marine Company (NJ), $100 shares, 1[898], #211, signed by Simon Lake as President, ornate border, American eagle at top, black with green underprint. Simon Lake (1866-1945), Engineer and Inventor who built the Argonaut submarine in 1896. The submarine became world renowned and Lake's designs were also put to military use. The Lake Sub-Marine Co. acted as parent to numerous smaller companies, and held offices worldwide. Filing holes at left, GVF.
