The company built the Windsor Hotel and the Barclay Hotel in Denver, Colorado. The Windsor was also financed by Horace Tabor. James Barclay was also a director of several companies operating mortgages and investments in the USA, such as the Colorado Mortgage & Investment Co., MP for Forfar and friend to Lord Airlie founder of the Dundee Mortgage & Trust Company. Liquidated 1908; together with other British Land and Property companies including Surrey & General Land Co., 1892; South Lancashire Land Co. Ltd., 1873; Hornsey Freehold Estate Tontine Co.
