(VA), 7% First Mortgage bond for $1000, 1872, #498, lare format piece with vignette of route and serveyors, black and gold with green underprint, with coupons, NOT cancelled. Formed to acquire an existing standard gauge line from Fredericksburg to Parker but this failed in 1874. Renamed Potomac, Fredericksburg & Piedmont RR, converted to 3 feet gauge and extended to Orange by 1878. VF and scarce.
