State of Alagoas, 5% Gold Loan, 1906, pair of specimen bonds for £50 (one of only 240 issued) and £100 (640 issued), part of £500,000 loan, dated London 1909, ornate scrollwork at sides, coat of arms at top, blue and green respectively, perforated CANCELLED and stamped with file location on face, with all coupons, together with coloured map of the state. The £100 bond has been seen issued, we have never seen an issued example of the £50 piece. Light toning, very fine and rare (2+map).
