London Exhibitions Ltd., £10 ordinary shares, 18[98], #372, scrollwork left, blue. Company created by impresario Imre Kiralfy in 1894 to acquire the Earl's Court Exhibition Grounds. He redeveloped the site for the Empire of India Exhibition in 1895 which was followed by new exhibitions for the next 8 years when Kiralfy resigned from the board. Earl's Court was sold and redeveloped in its present Art Deco style in 1935, opening again in 1937. F-VF and scarce. Together with other entertainment related companies comprising Strand Music Hall Co. Ltd., £10 share, 1862, black. Acquired the Lyceum Theatre in the Strand. Sold in 1868 to become the Gaiety Tgeatre, demolished in 1956. Guildford Sports Ground Ltd., £1 shares, 189[4], and, Dorking Swimming Bath Co. Ltd., £1 shares, 18[95]. These VF (4).
