Thames and Severn Canal Navigation, an unissued general bond, 17- [1791], vignettes at top of bridges over the canal, orange-brown and black printing, on vellum. The loan was raised to complete the canal as per the Act of 1783. Decline of the canal coincided with the building of railways in the 1830's and it was in a poor state by the 1870's. Closed prior to WWII although there are several schemes of restoration in operation today. AEF
