1935-45 Group of documents (6) showing unusual usage, including internal letter bearing 1931 postage ½d. black and emerald surcharged "5/- / Ondangua" in red, vertical pair, the letter reading "Payment of tax by 2 unknown natives... accounted for and not affixed to their respective cards", and registration cards (5), one bearing 3d. grey-blue and blue, surcharged in red for two different tribes (Ondonga and Ukuanyama) used against regulations (one of only three recorded cards bearing stamps for different tribes), one defective card bearing payment for five different years and mysteriously franked with an additional 1931 Postage 1/- chocolate and blue without surcharge (3), a very late 1983 card showing an "ondonga" printed label in yellow which replaced the stamp issued from 1972, lastly two blank cards. A fascinating group.
