1917 (11 May) double rate commercial envelope registered to Melbourne and re-addressed locally, bearing 1917 (Feb.) War Stamp 1½d. (Type 14) on 2½d. and 1½d. (Type 15) on 2½d. pair, both tied by "georgetown/grand cayman" double-ring d.s., showing "R" in oval, blue crayon "Grand Cayman" registration marking (deleted) and G.P.O. Melbourne registration label with, on reverse, Kingston Registered, New York, San Francisco, Melbourne and Portland datestamps; the envelope with some minor wear at edges. A rare wartime franking to an unusual destination. Photo
