Collection of surface printed issues (17) showing telegraphic usage at various military bases prior to the issue of Military and Army Telegraph issues. Many better including Post Office Telegraphs £5 orange used at Fort George, (with added perf at lower left) and G.P.O. postal issues (dated after the withdrawal of the Post Office telegraph stamps) including selection of (11) values including 1865-73 9d. straw and 1883-84 5/- crimson all with "curragh camp" c.d.s., other cancellations including "carlisle fort/ mily. telghs." and Aldershot and Wimbledon Camps. Some condition flaws as to be expected with such a scarce group of postmarks, nevertheless a splendid lot beautifully written up the vendor. Photo for £5
