A2, dated 15 June 1840, from Bath to London, additionally bearing 1840 1d. Black, Plate III, KL, touched at foot but with good to large margins other sides, and tied by a crisp red Maltese Cross in a crimson shade, dated markings on reverse; clean and uncreased. Fine and extremely rare with the Penny Black tied by a Maltese Cross but Britannia not so (contrary to Post Office instructions). B.P.A. Certificate (2010). Specialised £15,000. Photo
