The Shorthorn Society, silver prize medals (15), a remarkable collection of large silver medals awarded between 1937 and 1952 to G and G.J Wooster, of Pennbury Farm, a successful Leicester family of farmers and breeders of Shorthorn Cattle, among the champions listed are Pennbury Princess, Pennbury Fairy, Pennbury Waterloo, and Pennbury Pansy, the majority awarded betwen 1946 and 1949, total weight 1,010.5g, very fine - extremely fine (15)

Pennbury was in the news a few years ago when a proposal to build an 'Eco Town' of between 15,000 and 20,000 new homes was rejected by the local authorities after a very active campaign voicing objections from just about every interested and informed group at both local and national level.
