(x) Afghanistan, Kingdom, Order of Independence, First Class set of Insignia, sash Badge, 53mm x 42mm, silver and gold, neat local arabic character inscription to obverse and reverse of crescent arc; Star, 86mm, silver and gold, central gold overlay affixed by screw and nut to reverse as issued, two neat local arabic character inscriptions to reverse, nearly extremely fine, rare, in the original cloth covered case of issue, this a little worn, with full sash riband (2)

The Afghan Order of Independence was instituted by King Habibullah Khan in 1911, as a reward for outstanding service to the Kingdom. The sash Badge comprises a crescent within which are gold crossed swords and a plumed gold turban, in comparison to the Star, which bears a gold castle.
