(1307 Sgt. A. V. Frater, A.R.A.), officially engraved naming, mounted as worn, generally good very fine (7)

Allan Victor Frater was born at Southport, Queensland on 2 November 1919 and enlisted in the Australian Army in Brisbane in October 1941. Having served in 67 Australian Infantry Battalion, as part of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force (B.C.O.F.) in Japan, he was discharged in July 1948.

He was subsequently recalled at the time of the Korea War and afterwards joined Royal Australian Infantry Corps. It was in the latter capacity that he was awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal (C.G. No. 73 of 27 October 1960, refers) and M.S.M. (C.G. No. 19 of 27 February 1964, refers).
