France and Colonies substantial mint collection, a remarkable lot housed in two voluminous Scott albums including, in France, the classic period used, from 1900 featuring the substantial value in the section dedicated to France, generally mint with the exception of the 1925 Paris souv. sheet which is presented with special c.d.s., the remarkable items in mint being 1917-19 Orphans set, 1923 Bordeaux exhibition, 1929 Le Havre exhibition, 1930-31 Reims Cathedral Die IV, Pont du Gard with the three perforations including perf. 11 n.h., other better semi-modern examples are occasionally found n.h., 1937 Pexip souv. sheet, airmails with 1936 marginal 50fr Green and 50fr Ultramarine; it continues with French Offices Abroad, being stronger in European territories, then French Colonies with general issues and possessions from Alaouites to Wallis and Futuna, including better territories such as Andorra with the first valuable sets mint, Cilicia, Monaco, New Hebrides, Sarre with 1948 Flood Relief imperf. souv. sheet and 1948 perf. airmail souv. sheet, St. Pierre and Miquelon displaying numerous better "France Libre" overprints and sets in the 1930's, etc, otherwise better overprinted early values and type "Sage" issues are exhibited in other territories such as Indochina, Guadeloupe, Guiana, Martinique, New Caledonia, etc; modern issues with T.A.A.F. including early values, occupations in Germany with imperf. souv. sheets, Syria and Lebanon also including modern issues; generally very fine except for classic France, a close inspection is highly recommended for this valuable lot.
