"The Burma One Anna Stamped Envelope - Eight postal administrations and two decades of political turmoil" gold medal winning one frame exhibition collection, quoting from the title page: "Postal stationery survives a humid climate better than stamps do. In 1939 a one anna embossed envelope was printed by Nasik Security Press (India) to answer the domestic letter rate. The shortage of paper during the war years encouraged successive administrations to adapt, and re-adapt, and re-re adapt, the stock they found on hand." The collection includes mint and used, with Burma Independence Army overprints, including the S.G. Ty. 6 peacock as well as other types, including one used with Myaungmya Ty. 2 stamp, red peacock overprints, large violet "X" overprints in conjunction with red Japanese chop, usages with the special stamp produced to be affixed over the indicia (S.G. #J72), large red "X" overprints in conjunction with red Burma government handstamps, large black "X" overprints in conjunction with revaluation handstamps, post-war British Military Administration handstamps and occupation overprinted envelopes revalidated for postal use, a fascinating and visually appealing collection that would be a challenge to duplicate; scans available upon request.
