French "Bresil" consular postmark, 1860, September 29 folded letter from Bahia to Porto, directly consigned to the French consular agency bearing “Brésil/2-2” octagonal datestamp (Salles fig. 1.055) used at Bahia, with “150” Portuguese tax for the single rate struck alongside, showing on reverse “Brésil/Guienne” datestamp (Salles fig. 1.011), Lisbon transatlantic entry and arrival c.d.s.; one of only eight covers recorded bearing this postmark, rated by Salles as “RR-Pièce d’amateur”.
