1847, July 1st, day of introduction of the first regular issue, stampless folded cover addressed to Morganfield, Kentucky, bearing very fine strike of "St Louis Mo./Jul 1/10" c.d.s., annotated as received on "July 6th 47" at left, some splitting at top not detracting from the overall clean and fresh appearance; a very rare cover dispatched on the first day of issue of the first regular stamp in the United States, of great desirability as no covers have been so far discovered exhibiting the first-issue denominations, 5c and 10; 2007 Philatelic Foundation certificate.
