Lot: 551

#10 var., 11, 1871 10kr Blue horiz. bisect and 15kr Brown, a most unusual and unlisted usage of a 10Kr Blue bisect used on the reverse of 1874 returned registered cover to Sacelu with 15kr Brown on front tied by "Nassod 12/1" c.d.s., the bisect similarly canceled not confirming the bisect, transits of Dees, Szurdok and very scarce Draomarerfalva, all in January of 1874, the recipient was evidently not found so the letter was finally returned in June of 1874 with transits of Sziget, Kosozsvzr/Erdely and backstamped with "Nassod13/6 74" c.d.s. with year date that was applied on the bisect tying and confirming its status as a bisect, stamps are attractive with strong colors, very fine; the 20kr rate pays for a registered cover of 2 oz., this being a unique and extremely rare way of making this rate; 1992 Visbyovszki certificate where he notes in German that "The cover is a very interesting rarity, a gem in a postal history collection." (Phil. Hung. #11 var, 12).
