#135, 135A, 2c Red brown with grill, lovely pair of virtually identical overall embossed envelope valentine covers, one with late-state "H" grill, the other with scarcer late-state "I" grill, both covers used locally to the same address (but to different persons) and tied by similar New York duplexes, both stamps are well centered and possess a well impressed grills confirming the two types of grills by there point count and the structure of the points, very fine and attractive; these are offered together because of their remarkable similarity yet having two different grills, the handwriting and the dates in the cancel suggest that an older sister sent a valentine to her younger sister on Feb.14th ("I" grill cover), the younger using the same embossed stationery sent a valentine back on the 15th ("H" grill cover) explaining the two different grills; the scarce "I" grill is listed but unpriced on cover in Scott.
