Gardiner, Wesleyan Missionary, Lagos, Western Africa", bearing 1847-55 Embossed 1/- green with close to large margins, centrally cancelled by crisp "255" and showing, on reverse, despatch, London (22.6) and Plymouth (23.6) datestamps; also 1854 (21 Oct.) envelope (a little soiled) from the same correspondence bearing Embossed 1/- green (faults) cancelled "831" at Wakefield and showing London and Plymouth datestamps on reverse.
