1899 (23 Oct.) 1d. red envelope, uprated with 1896 2d. dull mauve and orange, registered from York Island, Sherboro to Rochdale, a good strike of the despatch datestamp (Type 22) on reverse, the franking cancelled in transit at Freetown (29.10) and showing manuscript "3", oval-framed "R" and Liverpool Registered oval datestamp. Very rare, being only the second recorded example of this postmark. Photo
