1863 (23 Jan.) unstamped envelope, complete with lengthy letter from missionary R. Hamill Nassau on the island of Corisco to his sister in New Jersey, showing manuscript "24" and blue crayon "66", a legible strike of the rare "fernando po" c.d.s. (shows year date error "62") of the British Postal Agency, "portland me am. pkt." transit c.d.s. (used by steamers of the Allen Line on winter sailings only) and, on reverse, "liverpool/br. packet" transit d.s.; envelope with minor peripheral faults though a rarity, particularly with interesting original contents.
