GA pale blue shade, large margins all round and very fine, tied by a crisp and clear number "8" in Maltese Cross cancellation, to Horrockses Miller correspondence entire letter, dated 8 April, 1843, to Preston. A superb strike on an immaculately clean and uncreased cover. Used within the first week of introduction of the numbered Crosses. The only recorded example of the 1840 2d. blue with number "8" on cover and probably the finest with numbers in Cross on cover. A major line engraved rarity in wonderful condition and of great visual appeal. Photo
