(x) Burma
1950 "Pyidaungshu" (Union) overprints, 3p. to 10r. set of fourteen each with a single line overprint in gold or black, fine mint. A scarce unissued set
Note: These overprints were apparently prepared by the Post Office after stocks of the definitive issues were looted from Treasury Offices and Post Offices in rural areas by insurgent groups. Only a very small supply were so overprinted and eventually the original definitives were replaced by a new series in new colours. (See Burma Peacock Vol. 4, No. 2.)
