The Henry IV/V divide has taxed numismatists for the past 100 years and longer. Brooke, in 1932, assigned the early ‘emaciated bust’ groats to Henry V, however, Potter in 1960 and recently Lord Stewartby consider those previously assigned but without a mullet to be late Henry IV. To avoid confusion, the existing division is retained, though the arguments for reassigning Henry V groups A & B to Henry IV have considerable merit.
